Almaty.
Lovely morning drinking coffee watching the Almaty world go by with from left to right Kiki, Will, me obviously, Jane and Lorna.
Such nice picture of lovely friends Kiki and Lorna, in the cable car to Kok Kobe Mountain.
View down from cable car as it passes over residential properties. Must be quite invasive for residents.
You can just make out the gold dome of Almaty Central Mosque to the left of centre in the photo. To the back of the photo, centre, is the Nurly Tau Twin Towers Business Centre.
When looking across Almaty from the cable care, high rise apartment blocks dominating the skyline in one direction.
Passing over the residential suburbs of Almaty below.
Sunkar International Ski Jumping Complex in the distance.
Colourful decorative canopy. Looks like a lot of upturned umbrellas attached to an arched metal frame. The colours remind me of an advert for the Konica brand – “Konica, colours all calling me”.
No idea why, but it’s The Beatles. Statue located on the slope of Kok Tobe Mountain near the Almaty Television Tower.
The Beatles statue was created by artist Eduard Kazaryan in 2007.
View from the slope of Kok Tobe Mountain across Almaty.
